There is a national movement to shut down historic Black institutions and ban books such as the 1619 Project which educate us about Black people's foundational contributions and impact on our US History. Black institutions such as the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) are the keepers and repositories of our fellow Black American's contributions and lived experiences which are a part of our history and democracy.
We are grateful to Indivisible Baltimore for organizing efforts so that we can challenge the actions that could destroy our democracy and erase the rights, culture and history of People of Color who are our fellow Americans.
Inspired by Danita Terry and Tia Hamilton who spoke in our last Allyship meeting, Jude Willson and Ellie Rosenstock, founder of the Indivisible Baltimore group, have planned several outings to support local Black Museums in our local area. This trip is one of them.
You are invited to join us on Sunday, 6/29 to visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture where the truth is being presented, difficult or not, it is a part of our US history. We are showing up in solidarity and support of the NMAAHC which has been "a century in the making".

Museum Cafe: The Sweet Home Cafe at the museum is open from 11am - 3pm. Museum Menu: Sweet Home Café | National Museum of African American History and Culture
