“The Horizon Foundation is Howard County’s community health foundation, and the largest independent health philanthropy in Maryland. We are committed to improving health through innovative initiatives, collaborative partnerships, strategic grantmaking and thoughtful advocacy. Our work is driven by community needs and is shaped around strategic solutions that promise a significant lasting impact on physical and mental health in Howard County.
Our strategic priority areas are promoting healthy kids and families, ensuring a more equitable community and encouraging healthy aging. As part of this work, the Foundation leads the Speak(easy) Howard campaign, a Howard County initiative that helps residents think through their preferences for care, talk about them with loved ones, and name a health care agent, the person you choose to make medical decisions if you can’t. Bridges to Housing Stability
Bridges believes that housing is the key to a household’s stability. Whether resolving the issue of homelessness or preventing a household from becoming homeless, our goal goes beyond crisis intervention – our approach and mission focuses on long term housing stability for our target populations.
Wilde Lake Community Association
Wilde Lake Community Association was formed “to organize and operate a nonprofit civic organization, exclusively for the promotion of the health, common good and social welfare of the owners of property in, and the residents of, the Village of Wilde Lake.”
World Day of Service
Every Year the Columbia Center for Spiritual Living participates in the “World Day of Service” by going to First Fruits Farms and helping pick produce to be donated to the Maryland Food Bank and other local Non-Profit organizations feeding families in need.
